Navigating Net Zero in the Built Environment:
Diverging Perspectives, Drivers, and Barriers.
During the spring and summer of 2025, interviews were conducted with key players in the built environment value chain (project owners, engineering consulting firms, general contractors, and suppliers). The purpose of these interviews was to shed light on their perspectives regarding the factors that promote or hinder the implementation and success of carbon neutrality strategies.
The interviews gathered insights and experiences regarding the challenges of implementing carbon neutrality. Their analysis revealed points of convergence and divergence among these insights and experiences and identified potential research avenues for the Chair on Net Zero Strategies and the Life Cycle.
